Q) Where Can I learn
about IP and Protocals? Why can't I have my own IP address? Why do I have
to share IP address on basic webhosting plans?
A) Visit http://www.arin.net/arin/faq.htm
and http://www.arin.net/announcements/policy_changes.html
on the new ARIN Policies.
Q) What is a Domain
Name? What does it mean to register a Domain Name? How does this all Work?
Q) The Domain Name I
like is taken and I own the trademark. What do I do?
A) Visit http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp.htm
Q) Can I transfer my
existing Domain to First Global Server?
A) Yes, as long as your domain has not expired. Contact sales@1stglobalserver.com to arrange for this.
Q) I forgot my domain
name's password. How do I access my Domain Name?
A) Fortunately we are one of few Registrar RSPs who can help you with this. The process is long, but possible. Contact support@1stglobalserver.com to start the process.
Q) How long does it
take for you to register my domain?
A) We have the
capability to immediately register a domain. However to do this we must
first receive your payment, as registered domains are non-refundable.
Q) I made an error on
the spelling of my domain name. Can I change this?
A) Unfortunately not. Once a domain name has been registered, the registration cannot be reversed. Please make sure you are selecting a correct name for your domain.
Q) My current ISP has
its own name in the contact field of the domain. How do I get control of
this domain?
A) This is a
manipulative method used by many ISPs to control customer's domains. If an
ISP is registering a domain for you they MUST include your name in this
field for you to be the legal owner of the domain name. Beware of such
hosting companies. Contact them today and demand that the name be changed
to your name.
Q) What is First Global
Server's policy regarding ownership of domains?
A) We provide a control panel for you to change your domain information at anytime. You may transfer your domain name to any other Registrar at anytime, as long as your domain name has been fully paid for. |
